Check the sponsor before the package
The UAE Government lists salary and residence conditions for employee family sponsorship, including AED 4,000 monthly or AED 3,000 plus accommodation. That published threshold is one part of the criteria, not an approval promise or a rule covering every family arrangement. Ask the authority to confirm the conditions for the sponsor, relationship and category involved.
Prepare family-specific information
Explain who will be sponsored, their relationship to the sponsor, ages, nationalities and current locations. Ask for the current list of relationship, identity, accommodation and sponsor evidence for your case, including any attestation or translation requirements. Different family circumstances should not be treated as one interchangeable application.
Keep dependent applications separate
Ask which fees and appointments apply to each applicant. The government guidance states that family members aged 18 and over require medical fitness. Clarify entry or status steps, Emirates ID, insurance where applicable and the residence validity tied to the sponsor. Do not assume dependents are included in a quoted freelance or employment package.
Plan for changes to the sponsor
Family residence is linked to the sponsoring arrangement. Before cancelling or changing the sponsor’s residence, clarify how dependents must be handled and which deadlines apply. Send Dubai Visa a summary of the sponsor’s category and family situation for a tailored checklist and itemised enquiry. Relationship documents are not required for an initial discussion.
