Start with how you will work
If you will be employed by a business, discuss the relevant employment and sponsorship process with that employer. If you plan to provide independent services, check the permitted freelance activity and licensing route. The words “work visa” and “freelance visa” are often used loosely; ask for the actual permission, authority and sponsor arrangement.
Compare responsibilities
For employment, clarify the employer’s role in work permission, residence and renewals. For freelancing, identify the licence, any establishment-card requirement and the separate residence application if needed. Ask who maintains each record and what happens if you stop the activity or change your circumstances.
Compare operating costs over time
Request initial and renewal costs, with permit, residence, medical, ID, insurance and service charges separated where applicable. A residence period does not necessarily match the licence renewal cycle. GoFreelance, for example, describes an annual freelance licence. Compare the obligations for the full period you intend to operate.
Ask a question that reveals the right route
Tell Dubai Visa whether you have an employer, what independent activity you intend to perform, your current visa status and your location. Ask for the applicable category and document checklist before choosing a package. Neither route should be presented as permission to undertake any job or activity without the required approval.
